The 28-litre main compartment takes thirty 330ml cans or a full family lunch, yet the empty bag is a genuinely light 500 grams — so almost everything on your shoulders is the food itself, not the cooler around it.

Cold performance comes from high-density foam walls and a heat-welded inner liner that seals rather than stitches. Loaded cold with a couple of ice packs, it holds the chill for up to sixteen hours, which comfortably covers a day at the beach or a long site shift. Because the liner is welded and wipeable, melted ice stays inside and a five-second wipe puts it away clean.

Storage is sensibly split: two front zip pockets for cutlery and keys, two side mesh pockets for bottles or an umbrella, a lid pocket for the small stuff, and a bottle opener sewn onto the strap. The 600D Oxford shell is waterproof and hard-wearing, and the padded straps make a full 30-can load easy to walk with. In dark grey it reads as a normal daypack, not a novelty cooler.

Load it light, but load it full

At 500 g empty it rewards a full pack — air warms faster than a packed load. Pre-chill everything overnight, drop in two flat ice packs against the cans, and fill any gaps so cold air isn't sloshing around. Done right, sixteen hours is realistic.

Use the pockets to keep the cold zone cold

Every time you open the main compartment you let warmth in. Keep the things you reach for often — phone, keys, opener, cutlery — in the front and side pockets, and only open the insulated zone when you actually want a drink.

Keep it fresh

After a day out, wipe the welded liner, leave it open to air, and it won't pick up a musty smell. Hand wash the shell if it needs it; don't machine wash the whole bag.
